Out of Office is a new-to-market brand offering CBD gummies sold primarily online and in select cannabis dispensaries in Vancouver, B.C.
The company is looking to launch with one line of gummy bears in three flavour profiles. They want branding that appeals to a wide variety of consumers and breaks the stigma that is sometimes still associated with the CBD industry. Since advertising in this space is still restricted, the packaging needed to speak to audiences in a bold and unique way that was sure to grab their attention amongst competitors.
The Concept: Most of the competition in the space falls into three categories of branding: health-first/clinical, upscale/luxury, and the organica/holistic approach. We wanted to redefine CBD gummies through clean branding and layout paired with a punchy colour palette that would translate effortlessly across all brand touchpoints. The brand voice is friendly, approachable and informative.
The brand fonts are modern and clean while providing enough contrast to create hierarchy in the designs. The playful colour palette compliments the simplicity of the design layout. The barcode is presented on the bottom of the bag so as not to distract from the information and aesthetic.
The packaging is infused with nostalgia in the shapes and icons used. The gummy bear graphic across the bottom of the package adds a fun pop to the design.
This trifold brochure is an information booklet that is shipped with orders, or made available to customers inside dispensaries as part of the product display. The layout uses bold colours and graphics to highlight important information and reinforce the brand messaging.
The rules of CBD and cannabis advertising are constantly changing. Since certain digital platforms restrict the display of these products, we kept the products out of the social media content and only showed them in the print advertisement.
